The Indian Navy is the naval branch of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Navy. The Chief of naval staff, a four-star admirer, commands the navy.
WHO STARTED THE INDIAN NAVY?
On the southern front, the 1st Sovereign of the Maratha Empire, Shivaji Bhosale, started creating his own fleet. His fleet was commanded by notable admirals like Sidhoji Gujar and Kanhoji Angre. The Maratha Navy under the leadership of Angre kept the English, Dutch, and Portuguese away from the Konkan coast.
IS INDIAN NAVY POWERFUL?
India has the 5th largest Navy in the world in terms of displacement(after Russians, Chinese, US, and British Navy). India has 1 aircraft carrying INS Vikramaditya(45,000T) with one INS Vikrant(40,000T) under construction and one INS Vishal (65,000T) more planned. India has 10 Destroyers and 3 more under construction.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj :
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a great warrior and strategist of India. In 1674, he laid the foundation of the Maratha Empire in Western India.
