ABOUT INDIA:
India, officially the Republic of India is a country in South Asia. It is the second-most populous country, India is a country which has one of the richest and vivid histories and heritage. Moreover, it is the 7th largest country in the world, in terms of area. Our country has the largest democracy in the world and home to ancient Indus Valley civilization. The country is famous across hundreds of things. Bounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the southwest, and the Bay Of Bengal on the southeast, it shares land borders with Pakistan to the west; China, Nepal, and Bhutan to the north; and Bangladesh and Myanmar to the east. In the Indian Ocean, India is in the vicinity of Sri Lanka and the Maldives; it's Andaman and Nicobar Islands share a maritime border with Thailand and Indonesia. Modern Indians arrived on the Indian Sub-Continent from Africa no later than 55,000 years ago. Their long occupation, initially in varying forms of isolation as hunter-gatherers, has made the region highly diverse, second only to Africa in human genetic diversity.

India is famous for its spices and our cuisine is world-famous, no doubt in that. India is a country which has one of the richest and vivid cultures. Our country has largest democracy in the world and home to ancient Indus Valley civilization. It has beautiful green crops that fill our land with greenery. It also has many rivers flowing through fertile soil, a variety of flowers, plants, and animals. The Himalayas decorate India like a majestic crown. India has always been one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. The official name of the Republic of India was derived from the Sanskrit name 'Sindhu' that referred to Indus River. By the time the Persians conquered both, the then Indian subcontinent and Greece in the 5th century BCE, 'Sindhu' became 'Hindus' to mark the 'land of Hindus'.

- This country is the world’s biggest producer and consumer of mangoes, accounting for more than 40% of the world’s supply. In fact, Indians love mangoes so much they made it their national fruit.
- With a massive population, comes the need to communicate. India boasts 155,015 post offices which are regularly used by locals.
- No list about India is complete without mentioning the famous landmark. It was built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, the memory of his late wife Empress Mumtaz Mahal. The landmark now sees between 6-8 million visitors per year.
- The popular children’s board game was first created in Ancient India(~2 AD). Originally called Moksha Patam, the game was used to teach children about good and bad deeds and the virtue of karma.
- India is home to the world’s largest film industry, in 2017 alone 1,986 films were produced in India. The country also has a strong local film scene, producing films in many different regional languages.
